Facebook Malware debuts in the Flyers feature - more to come

The Register discovers that fake security pop-ups have made their way into Facebook. You know those annoying system like messages that tell you your computer’s been infected? Yep, we’ve all seen em. Well these prompts have gotten into Facebook, not through the new Apps platform, but through the Facebook Flyers feature that allow anyone to distribute cute bulletin board ads at a $2 CPM.
This is just the beginning, for sure. No matter how “closed” a platform is, if it’s a platform, it’s still exposed. And if it’s popular, then it becomes a target. It’s just a matter of time.
